Cupcake Toppers!!

Hello all, again I feel like I have been out of touch with everything for a while (mostly because I have been)!!! This is just short post, but I wanted to show off some cupcake toppers I made for my daughter's frist b-day party.  She is turning one tomorrow, but we had her birthday party on saturday as I have to work nights tonight. So I used the love bug cut from Create a critter at 2 inches. I should have made them a bit bigger, but oh well. They worked out perfectly. I originally wanted to have red and black iced cupcakes (for ladybugs), but I am a poor planner for things like birthday parties and I just didn't get my act together...so i didn't have time for that.  I just made some "grass" icing and then used the cupcake toppers, everything worked out fantabulously though!! I also made chocolate and confetti cupcakes, my wierd sister (check out her blog at http://paulaspapercrafts.blogspot.com/) does not like chocolate!!!  WHAT???  I know I said it my sister doesn't like chocolate!!

The first party was a bit emotional for me, and when I came across a card that I decided had a little too much writing on it, I just skipped over the reading to save for later in case I cried!! ha ha ha...I am a bit of a cry baby sometimes!! Oh well!! I can't believe how fast a year goes when you're not paying attention!! Here is a pic of my daughter at her first party too.
I also wanted to let you know about an awesome your story bundle, the christmas village cricut cartridge, and precision scissors pack are being given away by Cindy at Scrappin Room, go and check it out, it's a great chance to win a your story bundle and not to mention the other goodies you may win!!! Have a great day!!!

Thanks for stopping by:

Crop Out Diabetes!!

Hi!! Okay, so hopefully this isn't my last post for a while, I felt like I had my mojo back tonight while I was making this scrap layout, even though I still have yet to receive anything that I have ordered!! Anyways, my goal was to complete all of the challenges that were in the COD (crop out diabetes), somehow I managed to complete them all!! yay!!! ha ha ha...this is the last challenge that I needed to complete for the Crop out Diabetes challenge blog hop. I know it's a bit late to be doing the challenges, but there is plenty of time to be donating to such a great cause!! Please go and check it out, and donate if you can!! This will be entered at Scrapality's blog. Her challenge was to create a monochromatic layout for someone with diabetes. My mother has diabetes, and this is a layout that is for her "grandma's brag book" scrapbook. Every now and then I mail off a page or two for her scrapbook (she lives in arizona, and I in canada), so it's a nice surprise for her whenever she gets these!! Anyways, I chose pink (and of course white as well) because the layout is going to feature my daughter, and of course it will have my mom as well...it is going to have photos from my mom's recent visit here over new years!

(I know the stamp is unreadable, it is "Happiness walks on busy feet" by stampology...adorable but unfortunately i chose the wrong embossing powder, sorry, plus a bad photo doesn't help I guess...i tried...!!)
Recipe: DCWV and recollections cardstock, bazzill flower pots in pink and white shimmer, prima large flowers (white one), misc brads and jewel, Create a Critter cartridge for hearts and zebra, stampology stamps "happiness walks on busy feet," Ranger magenta embossing powder, pink ribbon and pink flower lace. I'm not sure what kind of paper the background is, I can't really remember.
In retro spect I would have embossed with a different pink, as it is really hard to see the magenta on the background (not so bad in person, but in the photo it is terrible and it is such a cute stamp!!)
Anyways, I'm pretty happy with it, and once I get some photos on it from my mom's recent visit home it will look even better, and I know my mom will love it!! thanks for looking and have a great night!!

I am MIA and Blog Candy Alerts!

okay...so I have been MIA for a few days...I am feeling like I need to get in my craft room, however...sadly I have returned to work and it just isn't as easy to do!  After one year away from work with my little baby, it is hard to go back to full time!  ahhh!!  Alas, it must be done!  It is also good for me and I am happy to be around good friends and colleagues again also!
Anyways, the reasons for no posts in the last few days is two-fold.  I was on a post a day run for a while, however I am on hold right now becuase I am back and work and I seem to have less time to muck around in my scrapbooking room (wierd??), however this is the reason that has the least impact on my actual scrapping output.   Secondly since starting to blog my wish list grew so rapidly and it was just soo huge.  I was feeling like my projects were crap becuase I couldn't use the cuts I wanted to use, the stamps I wanted or whatever...anyways...strangly enough my hubby must have sensed my dismay.
He splurged on cricut carts and crafting supplies for me...he did say that it counts as valentines and mothers day and my own spending on crafts!!  ha ha ha...but I think I'll  have almost every cricut cart, I bought a set of stickles (most excited about) and some bakers twine (yay), hmmm, I am thinking about investing in the many marvelous stampin' up markers...that has been the toughest to commit to, but I feel like I can't really explore stamping truly without them...so I must take the plunge...i guess that's why i'm back at work!! what else...I feel like i spent the farm (or my husband did anyways, and by feel i meant did)....
Anyways, so now I know all this stuff is on it's lovely slow little way over to my doorstep.  So with that knowledge I find myself sitting in my scrapping room with scrapper's block...is that what it's called??  anyways, I cannot think of a project that I can do without wanting what I don't have yet, it's all about what I'm waiting for...so I have decided to just check out tutorials (increase my wishlist), check out other blogs for inspiration and see whats out there until I get all my stuff, then I can get my mojo back on...Although, that being said I do have one more post for tomorrow...(i haven't done my project yet, but I wanted to do one more challenge for crop out diabetes!)
So along with that, i have some blog candy updates for all you out there wanting more candy!!  Who doesn't love candy anyway??  Okay, so Jayden's Mommy is giving away this beautiful just because cards brand new cartridge (the only catch is you have to live in the US or pay remaining shipping vis paypal, small price to pay for this great cart!!)

COD and more Challenges!!!

Hello all, I just wanted to quickly show my projects that I made today. One of my girlfriends just had surgery for breast cancer, so I made her a card for the occasion, of course. I love how the breast cancer ribbon is front and center but it is somewhat understated because of the flowers. I like to think that the flowers represent continued growth and happiness. Anyways, I also liked the monochromaticness (is that even a word) also.

Recipe: Recollections pink and white cardstock, pink ribbon (brand unknown), eyelet outlet brad, bazzil basics flower pot flowers (pink and white shimmer), dots cuttlebug embossing folder, 3 white buttons.
This card was really easy to make but a great card, one of my favorites, I also like that it doesn't have a sentiment either. (becuase I have really crappy sentiment stamps...for now of course...ha ha ha )
Challenges: COD - http://cricutcraftyclare.blogspot.com/
Challenge Me Monday - http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/

I also have a second project for today. Yay!! I did a kid inspired valentines card. I decided to use minnie as she is soo cute looking out all dreamy eyed. Anyways, before I get carried away, as I said I have crappy sentiment stamps so I just printed the sentiment off on my computer.
Recipe: Recollections cardstock, DCWV Cardstock, Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder, ribbon of unknown origin (as usual), its hard to tell also, but I rubbed the swiss dots with a pink pigment ink stamp pad to give it a bit of colour also.
Challenges: COD - http://sweetsassydiva-gspot.blogspot.com/
COD - http://paperprettiesblog.blogspot.com/
40:31 Creations - http://laurenscraps.blogspot.com/

Anyways, those are my projects, so thanks all for checking them out! Have a great night!!
