Stitched Stockings

I love the stitched stocking stamp set and coordinating punch. At first glance, it seems like it is soo limited to just stockings...but leave it to crafters to get creative with how they use their tools!! So awesome. I have seen it used as a hobby horse, baby booties, and even two together can make it into a sweater!! Gotta have tools that have more than one purpose...as long as it has more than one purpose, we can buy it....right?? ha ha ha
So, in keeping with my christmas theme...I have my PPA112 challenge entry!! It is an elements of style challenge today and the element is Lace! well...I think I can do that...pair lace with some vintage christmas colours and you've got yourself a beautiful christmas card!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso.
Ink: Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Versamark.
Markers: Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke.
Punches: Stocking Builder Punch, Eyelet Border, Scallop Edge Border.
Stamps: Many Merry Messages, Stitched Stockings, Winter post.
Embellishements: Antique Brads, Victoria 5/8" Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder.
Misc Tools: Sponges, Piercer tool, Sticky Strip, Heat Tool, Simply Scored, SNAIL, Stampin Dimensionals.

So, that is my challenge entry...I really like this card, but if I were to do it again, I would put a few more layers in the border area and probably use some DSP also. That being said, I like how it turned out and and I'm going to be proud to give that to a family member for christmas!

The Kids are Alright

Hello blogland....ahhhh....it has been so long...i see my mother has done a good job of maintaining my blog! ha ha ha...by maintaining it, I mean making it her own!! ha ha ha...It's all good....someone has to do it!

Anyways it has been so long...I have been watching all my mom's posts and been like...okay I need to get going on this again...get my mojo going and what not...so i have been crafting, just fallen off blogland...so I will have quite a few things to show you in the coming weeks!! yay!!! anyways...I was at work yesterday for the first day all week, and was informed that one of my colleagues and close friends, her daughter was in an accident (on tuesday) in which she was run over by a 1 tonne truck...the nurse in me is thinking there is huge potential for major disability and death in this situation and the mother in me is screaming oh my god!! I just couldn't believe it. The story was told to me and as a mother I just can't imagine...and as a mother who is a nurse in the operating room and sees tons of bad things happen, and knows the medicine side of things, just makes it that much worse. I just was sick to my stomach. Seeing your child intubated is not something that anyone ever wants to see. a parents worst nightmare. You can bet that every nurse I work with, it is their worst nightmare to be working on shift and your son/daughter, or your kids friends come into the operating room as a trauma...I felt so bad for my girlfriend. So...in the end, everything is all good, her daughter is in fact already at home (the incident occurred on tuesday), so I was just so relieved...so...what else can a crafter do than to make a card to send over! so this was my inspiration for the title of my post and my card.

Closeup of Saying:
Inside:

Ink: Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Sahara Sand.

Embellishements: Sponges, Mini Silver Brads, Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.
Misc Items: SNAIL, Stampin Dimensionals, Peircer Tool, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Simply Scored, Clear Blocks.
I just LOVE the stamp set pursuit of happiness. It is hands down one of the best sayings stamp set in this years IB&C. I just love it. the fonts, everything. and this saying "Everything will be okay in the end, if it isn't okay, it isn't the end." I love it, it is so perfect for so many supportive type cards. I love love love it.  Anyway, I know that il ove all the stamp sets i used, but I just hope that she likes the card...I think the colours reflect her style and personality also. Anywho, I should get going here...I gotta save my rhubarb crisp from the oven in a few minutes!! thanks for checking me out!!

Winter Wonderland

Hello...Mona again here with another Pals Paper Arts card creation!  I am totally loving this challenge!  It is totally opening up my crafting mind and I love love love this card.  It is soo cute!  I love the merry winter stamp set and it's really cute little sayings that come with the two snowmen and sled...the only thing that I would love to have to finish up this card (maybe) is the northern flurries embossing folder instead of elegant lines. (Maybe that will be on my next order...I'm sure I am due for a good sized order...right??)  Even without the Northern Flurries embossing foloder, it is one of my favorite holiday cards that I have made so far!
I love how a bit of versamark brayered across the elegant lines embossed area used with heat and stick powder and dazzling diamonds glitter just adds a beautiful fine dusting of glitter to the card.  Really gives a cute winter wonderland sort of feel to it.  It is sort of difficult to tell (about the glitter from the picture) so I apologize...for the photo, but I just love it!  Mary Fish (Stampin Pretty), my upline is so right when she talks about how participating in a challenge really opens your creativity up.  It really has gotten me to step it up a notch to try and keep up with all the other ladies and gents that participate in this one!!!  ha ha ha...Anyways....please enjoy the card.  I hope you get a bit of inspiration for yourselves!!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Whisper White.
Ink: Night of Navy, Versamark.
Markers: Marina mist, Night of Navy, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie.
Stamps: Merry Winter
Tools: 1/2" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Corner Ticket Punch, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Heat Tool, Brayer, Big Shot, SNAIL, Glue Dots.
Embellishments: Heat and Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Marina Mist 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Jewels Rhinestones.

Thanks for stickin around again this week!  Hope to see you all again soon!!  Keep creating!!!

Haunting Love

Hello everyone,

Mona here!!  So remember when I said that I was going to try and do the rest of the Pals Paper Arts challenge's in a christmas theme...well I found out that it was hard to do a halloween theme challenge as a christmas card. So....I made one halloween Card.  I love halloween, but I don't really send anyone cards....so I decided to do a little "i love you" with a halloween card for my hubby....I am pretty sure he'll like it. Sometimes I think he should come to some of my workshops...then I would get a chance to receive some just because cards!!  ha ha ha...
Anyways...this card was really fun to make.  I got a chance to try making a rosette!!  woo hoo!!  I've seen it so much this last little while, and it is on the cover of the holiday mini!! so....I received my simply scored tool and decided that there was no sense in wasting time and put it straight to work!  I tell you...that tool made it soo simple to make this beautiful accent.  A roesette wreath is a really beautiful accent for any projects, and it's painfully easy to make!!!
Anyways, the one thing that I wish I did was to make the flourish pop out a bit more from underneath, when I was making it I thought that it did pop out more, and by the time I realised it didn't my wreath was already stuck down with sticky strip!  and nothing is going anywhere when sticky strip is involved!!  ha ha ha...Anyways, this is my card for this week!!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Concord Crush, Whisper White.
Ink: Versamark, Pumpkin Pie, Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz.
Stamps: Season of Joy (swirl in background), Batty For You.
Punches/Tools: 2 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 1 1/2" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Paper Snips (distress the edges), Heat Tool, Simply Scored, SNAIL, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals.
Embellishments: Clear embossing powder, concord crush stitched polytwill ribbon, basic black 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon.

A little tip to get the little bat to have an embossed feel in concord crush, as there is no concord crush embossing powder, is to get some versamark on your stamp and then get the concord crush on your stamp.  Stamp it, put the clear embossing powder on your image.  And then proceed to heat emboss and you have a beautifully embossed image with only having to stamp it once, and in any colour that you have regular ink.  One word of caution though, is to ensure that you put the versamark on your stamp first so that you don't get your versamark ink pad all coloured up!!  That seems pretty self explanatory, but living proof that it isn't that hard to do if you aren't really paying attention!
Thanks for checking me out again this week and I hope that you'll stop by and check me out again!  Please do ontact me if you would like any more information on how i made the card or would like to purchse anything stampin up!!  Have a great weekend!

Celebrity Colour Challenge

Hello all,
It is Mona again.  I think Brenna has fallen off the face of the crafting planet!!  Anyways, I am back...I am making a concerted effort to participate in a challenge on a regular basis this year.  My regular challenge of choice is the Pals Paper Arts Challenge Blog.  I was away last week so I missed that one, but I made the week before!!  My plan is to make it next week also!  ha ha ha...The other thing is I am trying to do my christmas cards, and this year I want to have a bunch of different and unique cards for everyone in my family; so I have been participating in swaps, (which always helps with inspiration), and I will also be doing the rest of the challenges with a christmas theme!  hmmm...we shall see how that goes!
Anyways, my card for today features the PPA colour challenge colours (almost): Cherry Cobbler (only because I didn't have the actual colour which was riding hood red), calypso coral and basic grey.  I was also super inspired by another participant in the challenge, and you will see that I CASE'd her card today.  It is Monica H., check out her blog for some fabulous inspiration and to see her beautiful card!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Basic Grey, Calypso Coral Textured Cardstock.
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Delightful Decorations.
Tools:  Ornament punch, 3/4" Circle Punch,1" Circle Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Big Shot, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder.
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stamin Dimensions, Sticky Strip.
Embellishments: Calypso Coral 3/8" ruffled ribbon, Large Basic Pearls.

So, hope you enjoyed and thanks for hanging out with  me today and checking out my latest christmas card!!  Have a great day, and come and join in the fun with Pals Paper Arts Challenges, see you next week!!

New Blitherer on the Blog!!

Hello.  My name is Mona Burnett, and I am Brenna's Mom!!!  I have recently become a stampin up demonstrator also!!  After she joined and I saw all the great benefits she was getting, I decided to take the plunge and become a demosntrator myself!  woo hoo!!  I wanted to showcase my work also, but don't have a blog and have found myself somewhat technologically challenged...so I proposed a sharing of Brennas blitherings.  I have noticed that she has been sort of slacking in the posting area also...ha ha ha...hopefully between the two of us we can have a nice little blog with tons of Stampin' Up card and 3D item inspiration!!!
On to the first of hopefully many posts to come!!  My Neice and Nephew and throwing my brother and sister-in-law (follow??) a 60-60-40 party in the beginning of September!  (ie, they are both turning 60 and it is there 40th anniversary!)  What an accomplishment!! Super cool, and an event like that can't go without a celebration!!!  (or a card or two for that matter!!!)  For this anniversary card, I used the Pals Paper Arts Sketch 107 to guide my way (PPA107).  I chose to use Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White and Blushing Bride as my colours also.
Close up of the Tiny Tags:
Supplies:
Paper: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake.
Stamps: Flower Fest, Tiny Tags.
Ink: Versamark, black embossing powder, Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride.
Embellishments: Blushing Bride stitched poly ribbon, natural hemp twine, vintage trinkets, stampin pastels (pretty in pink)
Tools: Heat Tool, Sponge Daubers, 1 3/8" circle punch, jewelery tag punch, Lace ribbon border punch, 1/16" circle punch.
For the flowers I stamped them in versamark and then heat embossed with black embossing powder.  I then punched it out and burnished with the pretty in pink stampin pastels.  I thought about just stamping it on the blushing bride paper, but I like the effect of burnshing for this card better, I like the subtlety of it.  Even though there isn't a blushing bride stampin pastel (because it's an in colour) the pretty in pink is a pretty good substitute.  Well, thanks for hanging out and checking out my card.  Looking forward to more posts!!

Christmas in July

Merry Christmas (In July)...this is soo wierd, but I love it...Christmas is my favorite holiday and it is the one time of the year that I actually do go all out and crazy with card giving!! I love love love to make christmas cards and stuff for friends, colleagues and even some of the more notable aqquaintances...
anyways....so before I carry on...you should have come from Leslie's Blog...if you haven't and would love to start at the beginning, please head to Nicolette's Blog, otherwise carry on and I hope you like my work enough to become a follower, I love my followers and occasionally have some secret blog candy in the blog hops *wink* *wink*...so as promised i have my two projects...they are both cards, as I am trying this year to start earlier so that I can get them all done, as last year I started not as early and didn't have as many as I would have liked to...I had to budget my cards a little bit....now that is one sad concept!!! ha ha ha...anyways, thank you thank you thank you nicolette for giving me this opportunity to be in your hop, and I hope I didn't disappoint you by being MIA for the first day!! boo urns to that!!!...but hopefully this will help make up for it!! If you have come from
My first card is a bit more of the classical distressed christmas card...but I love love love it. All items on my cards are Stampin' Up items unless otherwise noted.

Recipe: Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke
Stamp Sets: Season of Joy, En Francais, Holiday Happiness
Embellishments: Red Riding Hood 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware Brad, Sticky Strip, SNAIL, Snips for distressing the paper edges, Clear Embossing Powder, Versamark, Heat Tool Gun.
Quick Tip: To get the frayed, distressed look on the 1 1/4" Ribbon, cut in half and pull out some of the weaves in the ribbon. It give a fabulous distressed look.

For my next project, it is also a nice Christmas card using classic colours, but it was a bit easier in terms of tools and stuff used and just ease of assembly in general. This card would be awesomely easy to create in large quantity's and with less cost in terms of purchasing supplies. But still is beautiful, and fun to make.

 Front of Card
Inside of Card (hard to believe, but picture quality doesn't give the colour justice...it is Old Olive!!)

Recipe: Cardstock: Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White.
Ink: Real Read, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight.
Stamp Sets: Season Of Joy, Occasional Quotes.
Tools: Circle Punch from Punch Punch, Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Snips for fussy cutting, basic rhinestone Jewels.
Quick Tip: I did not own the ticket Corner punch (and I would have love to earlier, but I didn't...)to get the ticket corner look , I took a bite out of one corner of one sheet of cardstock with my small circle punch from punch bunch and I then used that as a template for the rest of my card (i have since purchased the ticket corner punch becuase i think it is soo cute and love the look, this way it is a bit less maintenance).
I thank you so much for stopping by, and i am so sorry about not being able to share on both days...major tsk tsk on my part, but I hope this more than makes up for it.

I want to remind everyone again, if they want to fill up your stampin up wishlist, please let me know what I can help you with...as I have a stampin' up promotion going on within Canada ( I would love to open it to the states, but I cannot ship anywhere in the states). I am offering 10% off on any order over $50!!! Please contact me via email: rbanderson@live.ca to place an order!

Thanks again for stopping by today and can't wait to post again. Hopefully it wil be sooner than my last post (before this weekend)...it has been to long!!!
Don't forget to head over to the next stop on the way. Tammy has an absolutely stunning project for you to check out!!

Welcome Baby

Hello,
Sorry I have been pretty spotty over the last little bit, Since I returned to work in February it has been difficult to create time for myself where I don't worry about anything else!!! I'm either to exhausted to actually enjoy crafting or just too busy...so I have been trying to make some time for my crafting in the evening after Paisley goes to bed...it shouldn't be so hard since she goes to bed at 6pm...(I should appreciate that while it lasts!!!), but it feels difficult!!! Anyways, I find that work is so busy that they are always "desperate" for staff and asking me to stay late and I always feel bad saying no...argh...I miss my little one and sometimes I wonder if she remembers who I am!! in passing, but that fast that it crosses my mind is something in itself!!! ha ha ha...she spends all day five days a week at day home...*tear*...She is fantastic and knows me but I do feel bad...Anyways, enough about my worries!!!! Back to my card!
It seems as if I cannot stop making cards for baby welcoming and baby showers!! ha ha ha...they are just soo cute, and friends are always having babies!! ahhh....oh well!!! ha ha ha...I made this super cute card, it isn't slated for a receipient yet....but I made it originally to use at a workshop I was doing at my sister's house...but then decided that it was maybe too complicated for a bunch of new scrappers/stampers....sooo...(stay tuned for in a few days I will post that actual cards we did make)...but I do love love love this card!!

Recipe: Cardstock: Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, In Colour designer paper pack in concord crush
Ink: Blushing Bride, Concord Crush
Tools: Designer label punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, blushing bride poly twill ribbon, SNAIL adhesive.
Stamps: Aviary Set, Sweetness Unlimited, Curvy Verses.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for listening to my mini mommy rant!! have a great weekend!!

Late Mother's Day

Hello everyone, here with a new creation...i know i know, it's a bit late, I forgot that I had made this card!! I made this for my cousin who was in town the weekend before mother's day! He is one of three boys, so I figured I would give them a hand (and I wanted to make something, but needed some proper inspiration!!). So, I got out my supplies as we watched TV, where he proceeded to be the peanut gallery as I created..."You got a sweat shop going,eh?" "what in the world are you doing?" "What does that do?" etc etc...so it was kind of funny, that he was slightly interested in it...ha ha ha...I finished the card and gave it to him, he seemed pleased...maybe it was because he didn't have to buy a card, but he was a bit impressed that it could be made...ha ha ha...
anyways, I got a note back from my aunt saying that she really appreciated my part in the gift, and she was almost brought to tears because all three of the boys wrote there own name on the card...ha ha ha...oh boys...thank god I have at least one girl!! ha ha ha...the only reason they all got there names on it was A. because i made it earlym, that way as my cousin was driving home he could stop at his brothers house so he could sign as he went through (which is seven hour drive from their parents). Then the other brother signed when it got home! so it was actually pretty neat how it worked out. my cousins are the kind that stop on the way to breakfast on mother's day morning to buy a mothers day card! ha ha ha...so yeah...needless to say I felt pretty good about the card, even though it's not my personal fave!

Recipe: Cardstock: Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Elegant Eggplant.
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant.
Stamps: Four Frames, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Eastern Blooms, Always Elegant, Occasional Quotes.
Ribbon: 5/8" Satin Old Olive
Tools: Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Decorative Label Punch, MS Border Punch (can't remember the name), Sponge, I rock Tool and silver glam rocks, cuttlebug, cuttlebug embossing folder "spots", SNAIL adhesive, Stampin Dimensionals.
A few techniques that I used on this card are: Dry embossing, Sponging, "Rock and Roll", adding dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Name on the Wall

Wow, I am on a roll!! ha ha ha...well today isn't paper crafting per say...but secretly it is!! i have had this project on my back burner for about 14 months!! ha ha ha...my husband and I started this when my daughter was 2 weeks old!! He was HOUNDING me to get some letters cut out using my cricut so that he could use them as a template to cut out the wood letters!! So...the journey begins...and like all things with good intentions...there is always a delay! So anyways, i cut them out and he took about two weeks to cut the letters out of wood (he was working full time too!! ha ha ha), and then he wanted to try and match the stain to the crib...alas...the first delay! ha ha ha...fast forward to about February 2011 (Paisley was born in february of 2010)...we finally decided that we couldn't match the stain...so we decided on colours to pain the letters (to match a quilt that my mom is making for her for her big bed...) so we chose a bright pink (similar to melon mambo) and a navy blue...picked out ribbons to match...then it was about another month before we actually painted the letters. The letters then sat in my craft room for another month-2 months...until today...when i was cleaning up (tidying so that I could walk around), and decided enough is enough, we are getting this hung up today!! so....after much discussion on how we would hang it (banner style vs how it is hung now), I "won" and we hung it how it hangs now, looking back I think this is still th better choice! but yeah...super fun and it looks sooo cute!! It is of course deliberately hung unevenly...it would be super hard to make it any other way!! anyways...yay! my daughters name all hand made!! This would be a super fantastic personal gift for someone also...it takes some time, but it is really easy...Although my husband and I took so long to make it. the second time around, it wouldn't be bad at all!!! i'm sure it could be done in a weekend (with paint drying times and timing it outside of nap times also)...you just have to know what you want to do before you start it! ha ha ha...we will definately be doing this for our next child also...only we will be prepared and will have all the supplies prior to starting so that it can be done right away!! ha ha ha..

Recipe: Plantin' Schoolbook Cricut cartridge (letters cut to fit page at 12x12...I cut it on vellum so that it would be easier)...pink and blue acrylic paint, pink and plue 1-1/4" ribbon, nails, foam paint brushes, stapling gun (to staple ribbon on the back of the letters).

The bumper pads is something that my mom made for us before paisley was born, and there is a matching crib quilt, they are an under the sea theme.  Also, I actually made the bed sheets...you can't really tell but they are fantastic, I actually made about three or four sheets for her...I just couldn't help myself once I found out how cute they are and they are sooooo sooooo soooo easy to make, made me wish that I hadn't purchased three sheets for her!!! I didn't match the sheets to the bedroom decor (for the most part) but making your own sheets is a foolproof method of ensuring matchiness!!!  ha ha ha...if you want the pattern for the sheets email me and I'll gladly give it to you! thanks a ton for checking it out!!

Thank You Card

hello all!!
sorry it's been a while since I last posted here!! I have been crafting and taking pictures, just haven't really had a chance to get it posted online!!! So....without further ado...if you've been following for a while, you'll know that I was recently trained at work for being the charge nurse on nights...whew...stressful!! ha ha ha...let me tell you charge nurses don't get paid enough...just thinking about a trauma coming in made my hands shake! ha ha ha...not that I can't handle it...but the responsibility of decision making is different than being a staff nurse!! ha ha ha...anyways...I made it through...
so I come to you today with a card I made for my colleague that actually trained me! (this was like almost a month ago!! ha ha ha) This was a fun card to make, and it turned out beautifully...but looking at it now, I feel like it's missing the stamp from the four frames stamp set (I got it shortly after I completed and sent this card off!! ha ha ha)...anyways, it still looks good, and hind sight is twenty twenty!! Everything is stampin up except for that i stitched with a sewing machine on the ribbon to give it a nice flat effect (easier to put in a standard envelope) but the dimension of a folded ribbon!!

Supplies: Paper - subtles designer paper, old olive, perfectly plum, pumpkin pie, very vanilla, early espresso.
Ink: Perfectly plum, old olive, pumpkin pie, early espresso, basic gray
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Punch Potpourri, Fast and Fabulous, Fine Filigree background stamp.
Tools: Word Window punch, Modern Label XL punch, decorative label punch, boho blossoms punch, stampin sponges, SNAIL adhesive,
Ribbon: Pumpkin pie 1/4" Grosgrain, Old Olive 5/8" Satin.

Thanks for visiting!! have a great day!

Can We Owl Just Craft??

Hello my friends...It has been a while!!!
This is going to be a pretty quick post today, just wanted to drop in and leave a little card...it hasn't been too long I don't think, well a bit over a week really!! but I'm back, yay!! ha ha ha...I have a new creation today...and this card is like one of my most awesomely loved cards, it is cricut free (which isn't why i love it, as I do love my cricut also...) and doesn't contain a stamped image!! what?? neither?!?!?! ha ha ha...yay!!! I have been really busy with work, my daughter, keeping the house and getting some crafting done in between all that (which is, well sadly a card a week...maybe)... So I made this awesome card almost exclusively with stampin up product...(unless I say otherwise)

Recipe:
Paper: concord Crush DP, perfectly plum, melon mambo, early espresso, crumb cake, turquoise, pear pizzaz
Ink: Perfecly Plum,
Ribbon: Taffeta Marina Mist
Tools: Owl Punch, uniball signo ball gel pen, itty bitty circle punch, Jillian Vance Designs Owl stamp set, I rock with purple and diamond jewels.

Anyways, this is a really cute card (I think), and I absolutely love the colours!!! yay!!! the colours are my favorite together...anyways, that's all for today!! thanks for stopping by!! Don't forget that I'm in the Mom's Day Blog Hop this weekend, and I will have blog candy!! Please do stop by!!!

Naughty or Nice? **First DT Submission!!**

Hello again,
I am back sooner than the usual...ha ha ha, I have been busy crafting away this weekend. I start on nights tomorrow night at work, and I have been just relaxing trying to get into the mode for nights today. Soo...without further ado, I saw the sketch challenge at tickled pink stamps...and well I bought some tickled pink stamps a while back, and was waiting and waiting for my markers to arrive to get them coloured up.  So this was my first attempt at a tickled pink stamp with my SU markers! Look how awesome they look!! And...not only does this card work for the Tickled pink stamps Challenge 15: Sketch, but it also works for the Tickled pink Stamps Christmas challenge #2: Jingle Bells, as my image has bells on it!! yay!!  We have been snowing here for last last 24hrs so I thought well it isn't that far of a stretch to get into the christmas mode!!  ha ha ha..we just cannot get out of the snow mode it seems...i want to get working in my garden and here is is snowing in the middle of April!!  Although I love love love christmas and winter and the beautiful mornings you wake up and have your coffee and it's snowing, It's april now, I'm ready for spring and summer and garden!!  I'm ready for the mornings I wake up and have coffee on my deck!!  ha ha ha...ahhhh!!  ha ha ha...anyways, I digress...while I was on the Tickled Pink Challenge site, I saw that they are having a guest DT call...hmmm....I think I could handle that...it would be awesome to be on their DT (even as a short term guest designer!! so anyways...You'll be able to look forward to my project for that!! ha ha ha...BUT...that being said I have submitted this card for consideration for me to be on another DT...The Let's Ink It Up DT!!!  YAY!!!  So...they are awesome and have some awesome challenges, and they are all about the rubber stamping!!  I love it!  I have done both rubber and digi, and they both have their advantages and disadvantages....but for today rubber stamping is king...anyways...my fingers are crossed...this is my first DT submission and I'm really hoping that I have a chance!!  ha ha ha...We shall see, pretty sure i'm just wishful thinking...we'll see!!!

Recipe: DCWV Christmas Paper, Very Vanilla and Real Red SU cardstock, Real Red and Old Olive SU classic ink pads, SU Many Marvelous Markers, Diamond Stickles, sewing machine and green thread, Snail adhesive, Four the Season SU Stamp set, Occasions SU Stamp Set, Whimsy Holiday Ticket Sentiments, Whimsy ticket die.
This was a really fun image to colour in, super cute and sassy!! And this was also the first time that I have really done a lot of stitching on my card (that isn't faux)!!!  So I love the stiching look, so this was for me!!  I love christmas, as I said earlier, and I love having my own christmas cards to send in the mail.  Last year I didn't have neough for everyone, so hopefully by starting now in April I can have most if not all of them done and ready to go out when the time comes!!  Anyways, Thanks for checkin' in!! Have a great weekend!!

For your Shower & Awesome Giveaway

Hello!  Anyone Out There?????  ha ha ha, just kidding...

I`m back with another creation! yay! I have a few things that I have been working on and hopefully I`ll get back to posting every now and then again!! I'm going onto nights next week, so hopefully I will have some time to get my creative mojo going again!!  Anyways, everything on this card is made with Stampin` Up product...I had a stampin`Up workshop at my house, as you all know (before I became my own demonstrator of course) and this is one of the cards that we made! (I`m not 100% sure what colours exactly that these are but pretty sure given that I`ve been like studying the catalogue for my wishlist!!)
Recipe: Crumb Cake Polka Dot ribbon; En Francais Background stamp; teeny tiny wishes stamp set (for sentiment); mostly vintage decor stencil; clear embossing powder; Cardstock: early espresso, crumb cake, not quite navy, very vanilla; stampin ink: always artichoke, not quite navy; perfect pearls (there is only one it`s a secret where though! ha ha ha...), SNAIL adhesive, Stampin sponges (for inking the background), stampin dimensionals, word window large punch, modern label extra large punch, decorative label extra large punch.
We started by using the en francais with always artichoke ink on very vanilla paper. I then used the mostly vintage decor stencil and the versamark and clear embossing powderto create a nice pattern of embossed image (I can't actually remember what the technique was called...darn it!!  worst SU demontrator ever....)  I heat embossed that and sponged the not quite navy over the entire background, and wiped the embossed portion off with paper towel.  I then adhered all the paper, ribbon and stamped the sentiment on the card.  (a tip though, when stamping on the word window punch with wood block stamps, stamp the sentiment first and then punch around your sentiment!!  then you can get a perfectly levelled and evenly spaced sentiment!!
I had a blast at my first stampin up workshop (one that I didn`t facilitate, but hosted), and ended up getting a beautiful card, a new title, inspiration, and of course new product!!

One last thing, there is a fantastic giveaway!!!  Ashley at Welch Creations is giving away a new cuttelbug V2 when she reaches 150 followers!!  WOW!!  Can you believe it?!?!?!  Everyons hould go on over and check it out and enter to win!!  maybe you will win!!!  Good luck on that!!  alright, I gotta run!!
Thanks for joining me today!!

Bugaboo Stamps, Stampin`Up, Blog Awards, I rock, A New Winner

Hello All, I am back, this is going to be a bit of a marathon post...so grab some coffee (or wine, depended on the time of day, I guess it is always 5:00 somewhere) and stick around!!! yay!! ha ha ha, I have been super busy with work and trying to keep my life together! It's sad that the one thing that helps me keep my calm and togetherness (scrapping) I don't have time to do at the times when I need it most!! ha ha ha...anyways...
I have a bit of big news for everyone...I decided to take the plunge and become a Stampin' Up Demonstrator!! WOW!! I'm soo excited, it's a whole new world of cardmaking and scrapping! I have known Stampin' Up for a while, but never actually owned much of their stuff.  I recently had my own workshop at my house and had a blast...there is so much stuff to choose from, and the product is such great quality. I just couldn't help myself!! Anyway, I can't wait to get started! So...with that being said If anyone needs a "supplier" ha ha ha...I am more than happy to help you out with that, and if you are in the Calgary Area, I would be more than happy to help you host a Stampin' Up party...great way to get some free product and play with what Stampin' Up has to offer!!
So I got my First stampin' up order (just one of I'm sure tons more)...I got the Many Marvelous Markers set, and the markers are awesome!!! So I coloured my bugaboo stamp with them. They are great (both bugaboo and the markers), I love the colours!! This was my first attempt, so I mean it wasn't THAT hard, seeing how it turned out not too bad, but there are some things that I definitely learned from the first time!! Anyways, this is my card:

Recipe: Spellbinders lebels ten, Whimsy Ticket Sentiments Rock On (digi), Bugaboo Stamps `Deacon Swing`(digi), Many Marvelous Markers Stampin' Up, Recollections brass brads, Blue hot rocks, I-rock Tool, Tim Holtz Distress Ink vintage photo, Recollections cardstock, Sakura White Gel Pen.
I started by colouring my image and cutting it out, then cutting out my spellbinders and matted them. With the ticket sentiments, I printed them from my computer, and used my little sponges to "distress" the ticket (and the edges of the light brown cardstock) and then scraped away at the edges of both tickets with my scissors to further make them look older, I then coloured the hearts in on the sentiment in red.  I faux stitched around the edge of the brown spellbinder, and then affixed my brads and hot rocks.
This was the first time that I used my I rock tool (truthfully, I added them after I was finished the card becuase I finally received it in the mail yesterday). It is soo awesome, I totally love it...so easy way less muss and fuss and hoping that you put your gem down in the right place...Love it!! official Review!! ha ha ha...I actually ended up winning my I-Rock tool on the Imaginisce blog as a weekly giveaway, I couldn't have been more excited!!! yay, so I got to play with it a little bit. Also, just a heads up, Imaginisce is showcasing their new line `little Cutie` on their blog all week, and it is adorable and the DT is absolutely fantastic!  There is tons of amazing amazing inspiration, and they are having a few giveaways in the mix also!!  You should definately go and check it out!!!
