Merry Monday And Convention Swap

Hello All!
Well...what a whirlwind my life has turned into!  WOW!!!  I feel like the last six-9 months has just flown by.  So much has happened...I will just bore you with the coles notes of it!  I'm sure you aren't really that into all the deets!  ha ha ha...Anyways, the short and sweet - I went back to work, my youngest started walking, I went to Convention, my cousin got married, I got a "promotion" of sorts at my other job.  Cardiac Operating Room - I CAN'T WAIT!!  I am nervous as all heck, but I cannot wait.
Anyways, that is all.  A few weeks ago - I went to the 25th Anniversary Stampin' Up! Convention.  I know if you are familiar with Stampin' Up! you know that it is the most amazing company with some seriously awesome product lines...well it was such an inspiring amazing experience.  I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for about a year and a half now, I would consider myself a business builder of sorts!  I would love to support others in what they love, but this is an experience that is just so amazing and it would turn any hobbyist into a business builder!  From the swaps, the classes, the friends, the hotel, the freebies it was just amazing.  And to get to tour the home office was soo cool!!  Anyways....what I really came here to post was one of my convention swaps!!  I made 24 of these beauties to trade with other demos.  I am also going to be submitting this in the Merry Monday anything goes Challenge, it is a month long - which is why I have been able to make the deadline ha ha ha...Anyways...This is a suspension card - yes I know, why would I do something that's seems so difficult for a swap...well it is not difficult at all!!!  If you would like some details on how to make a suspension card let me know I'll send you a little tutorial!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Petite Pairs, Christmas Collectibles.
Ink: Island Indigo, Coastal Cabana.
Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Winter Frost DSP Stack.

Soft and Subtle Sympathy

Hello!!

Sooo...one of the most beautiful stamp sets in this catalogue is Pappillon Potpourri.  It wasn't the first stamp set I bought...sadly, I can't buy everything at once!!  ha ha ha...but i did finally get that and the matching punch (elegant butterfly).  wow!  that stamp set is soo beautiful, much more beautiful in real life, and the punch makes it soo nice to use! So...I was inspired by the colour combination over at Dynamic Duos today...phew you all know if you've been following that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pool Party.  It is definitely my favorite colour.  The best thing about it is that it coordinates with soooo many of the other Stampin' Up Colours!  Anyways, the colour combo is Pool Party and Soft Suede.
I have played along a few times at this challenge blog, but this is definately one of the best colour combos!!  I also decided to play along with Stampin' Up! Only Challenges also.  This site is really good as not only does it have fun challenges, it is all Stampin' Up Product, so it's really good as a demo to get some inspiration from!!  To see all the different ideas and possibilities for all the stamp sets and products is really amazing!  SUO Challenges is a theme challenge this week, Animals!!  so throw in the little butterflies from Pappillon Potpourri and you've got the perfect mix!  Anyways, here is my card!

View from the top to show the double punching of the butterflies.

Recipe:
Stamps: Pappillon Potpourri, Petite Pairs.
Ink: Pool Party, Soft Suede.
Cardstock: Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Naturals White.

Tools: Elegant Butterfly Punch, Glue Dots, Sticky Strip, SNAIL, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, Blender Pen, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Stampin' Spray Bottle, Rubbing Alcohol (Non SU).

I love the end result of this card, there are a few steps involved to get there, but it is so beautiful!  I am learning so much as I go along with my stampin' Club.  I am really enjoying it!  Anyways, thanks for checking me out again today!

Thank You Swap

Hello,

Just a quick post today to show a swap card that I made a while ago. This is one of the most in depth swap cards I have made, but I had just gotten my mini preorder and was so stoked to use all my goodies, and I mean all of it! ha ha ha...and I love the finished effect! I couldn't stop adding elements.

Recipe:
Stamps - Curly Cute, Wonderfall.
Ink: Early Espresso, Versamark, Raspberry Ripple, Cajun Craze, More Mustard.
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Raspberry Ripple, More Mustard, Very Vanilla, First Edition DSP.
Accessories: 3 1/2" Scalopped Early Espresso Tulle, Linen Thread, Naturals Designer Buttons, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Champagne Shimmer Paint.
Tools: Scallopped Edge Border punch, Glue Dots, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Stampin' Sponges, Sponge Daubers, Autumn Accents Bigz Die.

I used a technique called Rock and Roll, with a little twist of course! ha ha ha...I used my sponge daubers to get some champagne shimmer paint on the edges of my stamped leaves. The way you do this is, first you ink up your stamp in the lightest colour you are using (more mustard for me), then you roll around the edges of your image in the darker colour (cajun craze). Then I took my sponge dauber and just went around the image with the champagne shimmer paint. You can be as wild or conservative with the shimmer as you want. I think I was sort of in the middle on this one! But I love it. I did the same with the other leave only this time I used raspberry ripple as my first colour, and early espresso as the outside colour.

On the embossed background, i didn't brayer on my folder, I just took my early espresso stampin' Sponge and sponged across the entire card. You get a bit of an aged tree bark effect. Really happy with how it turned out!!

anyways, thanks for checking me out today! I'll be back with my other swap card in a few days!

Christmas Stamp Camp Card #5

Okay, ths is the last card that we made at my Christmas in September Stamp Camp.  I had so much fun doing this, and I can't wait till Oct. 21 when I have my second Christmas Stamp Camp.  They will be another 5 different designs, so it's going to be a fun night!  If you are in the Calgary area, you are always welcome to join in the fun.  Check out www.brennaanderson.stampinup.net to RSVP for any of my events!!
Here is my card:
Recipe:
Stamps: Merry Minis, Tiny Tags.
Ink: Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Pool Party.
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Holly Berry DSP (retired)
Accessories: 1/4" Grosgrain Whisper White (retired), Holly Berry designer buttons (retired).
Tools: Big Shot, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Glue Dots, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Merry Minis Punch Pack.
This card had two variations: there was a red strip and a green strip of DSP to cut into the banner, then you could change the buttons also.  Some of the ladies used the opposite sides of the DSP to give it a different look, and that looks really cute also!!  I am always amazed at the creativity everyone has within them.  Even those who think they aren't creative at all (they are lying to themselves!!  ha ha ha)!!
I love this stamp set, the little merry minis are all soo cute, but I do have to say thank god for the punch pack!!  I would definitely have a hard time using this stamp set if I had to fussy cut all the little images!!  SOO cute....anyways...
I love the simplicity of this card.  It is minimalist, but not...definitely clean and simple!!  Anyways, I jst wanted to post this last card!  I think the ladies who joined me were just as happy with the card choices as I was.  Can't wait for Oct 21...yay!  Thanks for checking me out!
